Landforms cover Earth’s surface. As a people, there are reasons to change landforms. This could be for reasons such as shelter, protection, and to please the human eye.People have changed my landforms we dwell on today including army engineers and construction workers.During our written history, landforms have changed for the advantage of people, especially for shelter, or in the recent past, permanent places such as houses and condos.

History has shown landforms have changed since the start for shelter. The land did not change much for places to live for people over thousands of years ago. People constructed from their land form to build their place of dwelling; it could have been made out of sticks or the dwelling could have been from a simple cave. People did not have the needs or tools to change the land they lived on. Recent times have a large population than we had 100’s of years ago.

Different cultures have constructed their houses through out the recent history and our times. Take a look at some of the Native American tribes. Some Native American tribes constructed their homes in the side of mountain landforms. They did this for many reasons, the main reason because it was an easy place to live. It was easy for them to do and convenient as the cliffs were there. People of the Middle East, this also is true. They lived in Mountain areas too. Their homes were made with holes in the side of the mountain but look like giant houses that we build today. As time went on, the tools improved to help people build in many areas of the world including mountains.

During the times of the middle ages, one of the neatest examples of how people changed landforms for a place to live is given. When one of the most famous people of the world, Jesus, was alive, and before him, thepeople made their homes out of the stone in the land. Many places used this stone. The buildings also includes irrigation systems and sewer systems. This brought water in for drink and bath. Today, we still use this amazing system that was carved in our landforms, although, differently. With out changing landforms people would not be able to have a large community living close together like they started to in the Middle East.

Plain landforms were used for a place for people to live.Land area with out a lot of trees and is flat is a plain area. People were creative by constructing their homes of the the Earth. Their houses were made of earth and the roofs were made of grass. It is creative to see houses made out of dirt and mud. This left a lot of to the landform and it did not change much of the landforms.

In our recent history the landforms such as swampy marshes and large forests have changed for the convienence of business and places for people to live. What was once farm area, businesses have taken over huge land such as tree to establish a place for people to work. Swamp areas were destroyed for people to live close to work, now a days, drive to work. The tree lumber was used to contruct homes and buildings. People lived and worked these demolished landforms.

Given the change in population, land forms have changed drastically to benefit where we live. In the world we live in today, people live in homes that are 1000’s of square feet. Food we need are from farms that were once prairies that stretched for miles. People have changed many of a landform for a spot to dwell. This has changed a lot from the homes of the past.

With the increase of population landforms are changing. Where once was a glowing landform like a forest, is now homes for large families and buildings for people to do their jobs. In the recent past, we have changed landforms at an alarming rate for our convenience. It is a lot different from a thousand years ago where landforms were built out of clay and sticks. Humans have done this for a more convenient place to live and for protection but it has had an effect on our landforms. As humans, the landforms we live in today, may not be here tomorrow.
